Edmund Mangold, BMW Group

Edmund Mangold studied physics at the Technical University of Munich and graduated in 1992. Since then he worked in patent departments in the industries of medical devices, printing devices and automotive.

In 1995, he was admitted to practice as European Patent Attorney before the European Patent Office. Since 2000 he is admitted to practice as a German Patent Attorney.

In 2012, Mr. Mangold joined the patent department at BMW as Principal Expert. Here, his main focus of activities is on international intellectual property law, and includes prosecution, licensing and litigation of patents in the field of communication and information technologies. He also represents BMW at various industry associations such as the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) and the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA).
